What type tire pressure gauge are you using for manually checking your tire pressures?
Went on amazon.ca and theres 11 pages of gauges
ranging from 5.99 to 99.99
CT has a few but seem kinda cheap
I dont think I want digital cuz then I need to think about batteries.
Leaning towards analogue dial face type with hose???

Recommendations?

 

I use a Longacre analog. Sportscar Boutique and Braiden Tire carry them

For basic use street stuff, any half decent gauge/inflator is fine...I prefer dial but digitals can be good too

 

be careful of cheap digitals, just because they are precise does not mean they are accurate .. just yesterday my digital indicated my rear tires were at 33psi repeatedly. I got my two analog gauges and they indicted 36. I then dug out my calibrated marsh meter I have done very year for work. Sure enough 36.2

cheap digitals use cheap transducers. Be careful.

 

I bought one like this to use. I like it a lot because it has an air release valve on it. So basically I overfill the tire by 2 psi with my compressor... and then push the button on this gauge to bring it down to exactly the psi I want.

 

How much and where to buy? ... oh... see it on amazon.ca for $62.18 ...

I picked up a digital from Costco. Excellent!

 

I saw the Longacre ones at cosco.ca
Not a member but know people who are.
Looks like Longacre or Moroso is the way to go.

I'm happy with my longacre.

 

There are a few features with tire gauges that people don't think about. With a swivel on the doohicky for the valve, the gauge will always be positioned properly to read accurately. Pressure hold so you don't need to check again if you got distracted while reading the number. Pressure release so you don't need to disconnect to bleed pressure. Auxiliary fill so you don't have to disconnect to fill (nice feature, but not always easy). Large face to read 1/2 and 1/4 pounds with accuracy. Large rubber protection for when you drop it. Glow in the dark for the times with little light. Finally, a nice case to keep it in so your other tools don't scratch the expensive Longacre ($$$) unit that you justified....

I bet there are alternatives to Longacre, but honestly never found them with all the features and a good case...
