Default Yippie, new stone guard!

Driving at the cottage today and debris thrown up by oncoming traffic caused quite a dent in my hood. Off to the shop for repair next week.

Any thoughts on getting the entire hood covered in stone guard? To

Ouch ! sorry to see that. You may see seam lines if you do the entire hood cause I am pretty sure you need to joint 2 paint protection film to make it big enough.

Get it done, can be done in 1 sheet for full hood.

I have the front of my 991 down all the way to the A pillar, no seams visible.

No way, the PPF come large enough for quite a few years now, any half competent installer can get and install full hood without any seams.

I don't think the clear bra would have saved you on that one.

Clear bra would not have saved that as Dan mentions but yes, a clear bra is a great investment.

No it wouldn't have saved the dent, what it might do is to reduce or maybe eliminate the paint damage, such that dent can be removed with PDR process, although it this case it would take a very experienced PDR technician to do so.

Thanks for the input. Stone guard obviously wouldn't have prevented this. I was just wondering about paying the additional cost after insurance covers the repair and half guard.

Going to (PCCC) Dealers Choice but man are they slow. I think they're DFC's preferred shop but will call and confirm.
