Impressive Turbo S Comp. Test

Drove the 570S for a few days...no f'ing way I'd go 991 Turbo over that. The depth of engineering is unreal.
That being said if I wanted a very enjoyable automatic, I'd buy the Huracan over the Porsche or the McLaren. Maybe wait for the Superleggera version. Drove the Huracan at Shannonville, link below.

On a more serious note, I am sure you did not buy the 650S just for the performance or the name. You must have loved the whole package, right? The design, the driving experience, the fit and finish, the comfort, etc, etc, etc...
And most of that stuff is subjective. I can see how someone else might make a different choice. Does not automatically make it a wrong choice, no?
Not sure what choice I would have made. I would have to drive every car in the segment to decide. Did you? Or you just simply wanted the Maclaren?

IMO
1. Ferrari 488
2. Huracan
3. 991 Turbo S
4. 570S
The 570S was delivered to us with near no mileage and I immediately noticed a lack of build quality. The front bumper and bumper blades were misaligned and popping out of their clips, one of the side vents was about to fall off from lack of tightening the bolts, and the paint had major defects on the roof. No damage from the owner's end to cause this. It also had a malfunctioning e-brake that would stick on and a center console with lights that failed to work and were on backorder for months. This build quality itself puts the 570S at the bottom of the list for me, although I cannot say I have experienced that same lack of quality on our 14' MP4-12C or the various 650S/675LTs that come through the shop. Also, McLaren depreciation is horrific at the moment and I don't see the 570S being an exception to that. That being said, on the flip side the 570S has incredible mechanical grip from the CF mono-chassis and F1 style hydraulic suspension, a much more user-friendly entry/exit from the car than the 12C/650S, and of course comfort in the McLarens are always superb to travel whatever distance you please. The car also responded well to modifications, unleashing another 88whp/76wtq with exhaust and tuning. The sound is great once unrestricted, so you have a V8TT spooling right behind your head under throttle. However, not as good a sound as our 12C, simply because in that car I can drop the rear window to let the sound directly into the cabin.
The 991 Turbo S is a brilliantly engineered rocket ship. Quality is top notch, and you get the feel you can put the car through any/all the elements as a daily driver and come out after a few years no worse for wear with minimal maintenance costs and a decent residual value. Although it already comes from factory with neck-snapping acceleration, you can't help but feel it is a bit too refined for the true petrolhead spirit and the lack of sound doesn't help. However, with a very strong aftermarket you can throw another 100+whp/tq with basic bolt-ons/tune, and the exhaust will come to life once unrestricted to be quite epic under full throttle while maintaining comfortable street manners off the throttle. It is an absolute powerhouse, but just doesn't quite have that "X-Factor" I need to truly enjoy the car. A GT2 would likely fix any qualms immediately.
Speaking of X-Factor...the Huracan. What an incredible machine. The quality is great now compared to the previous generation Gallardos, the overall styling is smooth/elegant yet maintains that unique Lamborghini presence, the V10 engine is brilliant, the transmission is brilliant, it feels balanced and eager to throw around on a track, the sound is superb already and even more so when upgraded...overall a top notch car. The only real downside is the lack of comparative power potential with easy modifications compared to the other cars at maybe 40whp/30wtq potential gains. Sure the horsepower numbers might be close to the others, but torque potential is down 150-200 to the wheels depending on the comparison. I am after performance, and that much less than the others is a deal breaker on winning the overall vote. That being said, throw a VF Supercharger for around 30k for 800hp and you'll leave the others struggling to keep up. I just can't warrant that extra expense without taking it out of the running for my top dog of these four.
Come the 488...styling is a love/hate for many over the 458, but once you see them both side by side for a couple days the 488 grows on you hard and you start to admire every little curve shaped by science. It's a show stopper, especially when optioned right with some CF, the fancy seats, and that lovely steering wheel that makes you feel like you are an F1 driver as the lights climb to the shift point. That being said, right off the bat the sound and performance was not what I had hoped from factory. It was quick, but not fast. It sounded okay, but much too quiet and nowhere near the N/A V8/V12 exhaust note of the previous generations. However, the car took upon a complete transformation unlike any car i've seen come through the shop. With Sport Cats and an X-Pipe the high-pitched, exotic wail was back with a vengeance and intoxicating turbo noises, and when adding a tune to the exhaust the 488 saw gains up to 111whp/147wtq. Now brutally fast like the other cars upgraded (if not faster), adding that glorious Ferrari sound, and the pure experience of driving not just any Ferrari, but the "new hotness" from Italy....you can't help but value every second driving that car as something unique and special. Something about a Ferrari just makes you feel...different, better in the best of ways, elegant, something that you have to experience that words don't do justice in explaining. I'd take the 488 over any of the other cars...any day of the week that it wasn't raining, snowing, salt on the roads, or high risk of someone dinging/denting/scratching the car where i'm going....Hmmmm, guess that means I would need more cars in the stable to fully enjoy it when I can. Oh well, best go shopping at the nearby Porsche dealership to get something I can drive every day of the year with most of the enjoyment
