I will totally agree that it looks much better than the Gen1, but it still doesn't appeal to me. Somebody is interested in keeping the "911 DNA in the brand" and it just doesn't work with a four door. I am not a fan of the S7/A7, or those BMW GT series cars either. (The X6 BMW and those GLA type things are horrid design diseases that need to be eradicated).
I just believe in the design philosophy of: A truck is a truck, a sedan is a sedan, a coupe is a coupe, A sports car is a sports car, a wagon is a wagon. Trying to mix them up causes issues and compromise. Sure a Cayenne Turbo is cool, I love crazy fast wagons, sports sedans are awesome, and so on! But trying to make a front engine 4 door Porsche hold on to the "brand DNA" just makes the thing look like a compromise. I bet they could do a better job with a clean sheet design that doesn't need to hold onto the 911 for anything.
Funny thing about compromise. My wife wanted a cat, I didn't want a cat. So we compromised and we got a cat.
