Hello
I'm wondering if you guys think the 991 prices will drop majorly in the upcoming months because of the new 991.2 . The cheapests 991 I can find are Carreras at around 85k CAD.
What do you think the price will drop to, or will it?

In general I don't think prices on used 991 cars will come down much in the near future. No supply and high demand. Just like the entire Porsche market in Canada. If you want one go down to the states and get exactly what you want. Just my 2 cents.

I think there would normally be a bit of a drop but because the 991.1 will have the uniqueness of not being turbo I think that will help it retain its value. Some ppl will just want a N/A and they cant get that with a new 911.

Don't expect low prices anytime soon with current exchange rates. My 13 C2S Cab trade in with 9,300kms, was sold in the US. Shopping in the US will offer you more choice but not cheaper prices. The US $ is trading at $1.30CAN plus you have duty of 6.2% to bring it home and of course the HST which you will pay on any purchase.
My advice is, if you find a nice 991 at a reasonable price in Canada, buy it. Waiting for a huge price drop is unlikely to happen in the current environment.

+1. And i'd add that even if it's rare, as soon as you start putting mileage on it, it'll depreciate even faster. If you're planning to buy a car to drive, don't think about the depreciation. IMO, it'll be another 3 years before we see 991 sitting at their lowest price points.

regular cars depreciate approx 50% in 3 years... as for a 911... normally i would say it takes about 5 years to drop 50%, although the exchange rate issue is definitely skewing things in the current market.

They will deppreciate on a regular curve for the 911. 991.2 won't have any effect beyond, perhaps, keeping prices up as the cars seem to get more and more expensive especially the way they are being specced.
