Default Cars and Coffee get together in Kitchener

An invite to all Rennlisters, we would like to start a once a month casual get together at the Chapters in Kitchener. Saturday May 14th is the first one and then the second Saturday every month for the rest of the summer. Don't want to conflict with the Toronto GTG as some of us like to catch that as well, so that's why just once a month.
Location: Chapters Kitchener, 135 Gateway Park Dr
Corner of the parking lot nearest the Chapters sign.
Time: 10:00 am Saturday May 14th

Tom if we start to get a decent amount of people we could start our own Blitzkrieg and roll our German Panzer core into Paris for lunch !. . Might be a nice run through the country

Glad to hear of another group starting up!
Group 905 has been running strong for 3 years now - you guys should have plenty of support out your way! Good luck!
Plan on attending this inaugural meet...should be a nice drive down from Barrie on an early Saturday morning. Have our house listed so hoping I'm not required at home then.

Does anyone else want to revive a periodic meet-up for Kitchener-Waterloo P-cars? I'd certainly be interested, as I liked the Mississauga group when I went once, but it's a bit far, and Group 905 is even further.

Depends where and when i guess. The location we had was okay but not great, there are guys in Kitchener, Cambridge and Waterloo so may have to be kinda central. some place we can get coffee and has shade would be a requirement i would think.

This would be cool... what about using the parking lot at Conestoga College? I wonder if they would be okay with that?

weeknight evening would be better for me (monday - thursday)... weekends are out once school is out.

Does it need to be a set day or time?

well I think the standing around in a parking lot days i'm kind of over , but I will certainly go with the majority, Also walking to get a coffee is always nice as oppose to driving up the street then coming back, But at least we have a dialog over it now.

historically we have parked at the chapters on fairway .. not too bad but that lot gets blazing hot in the summer and we are dusking for shade.

I was thinking something like Riverside park in Cambridge where you can park by the river , but there is the coffee issue ... any other ideas ?

I scanned Google Maps to see if there were any appropriate locations with a coffee shop nearby but I didn't find anything that promising. It would be nice to find a park with a decent parking lot and nearby coffee. A few possible options are:
  • Conestoga Mall parking lot (just a parking lot)
  • Sportsworld Drive Area (just a parking lot)
  • Waterloo Park (no coffee shops nearby)
  • Saint Jacobs Parking lot behind Block 3 Brewing. EcoCafe is across the screet.
I'd vote for St. Jacobs since it is close and also has beer
