It's an Arrow AX-9 chassis made in '05, the enigine is a regular Honda GX200. Can't post pics anymore on RL but here is the Kijiji add to give you an idea. The seller put the engine back in the kart so I can hear it running.

It is a full size kart from what I see, so can be setup for junior and his dad.

Depending what you paid for it, it looks like a good deal, with all the spares and computer (Alphano?), which on its own is worth several hundred dollars if it works properly!

Have fun!

Yes it's a full size one. It was $700 for everything. We'll see if I can set it up for the little guy. I know the smaller ones are better suited at his age but then a year or two from now, he will out grow it. If it can't be set up for him, I'll figure something out then. The computer is working as far as I can tell. It powers up and reads the RPM, shows the last lap times the seller had. Now that the engine is sorted out, going to see how much the pedals and seat can be adjusted.

Very good deal IMHO. I'm jealous.

There should be no problem in adapting it, there are extenders for the pedals that you can buy or copy... your logic is right on for kids growing out of things at that age...

Slight twist in the plan. Finally read the rulebook and the current engine (200cc) is too big for his class (needs to be a 160cc Honda). BUT as luck would have it, last summer at a neighbour's garage sale, I bought a pressure washer that needs the water pump to be re sealed, BUT by luck, turns out the engine is a Honda GX160, exactly what the Waterloo Regional Kart Club rulebook requires. Nice to be lucky every now and then. Just need to remove the RPM governer, make a few small adjustments to the throttle linkage, install a crank vent line for the fuel pump and it's ready to go. Mark Too sent me his contact and will be sending in the membership paperwork to the club tonight. The little guy took the kart out for a spin on the weekends in a parking lot behind an industrial complex and the freshly cleaned carburetor makes the engine run really nice. Too bad he won't be using it for at least 4 years. He will have to start with the 160cc engine, stock muffler and a 0.350" restrictor plate. Told him he needs to learn how to properly drive before going fast. I think he understood.

Warning - this is a slippery slope and soon it will consume all your time and money. But you will have a great time with your son, so what could be better!

As I said, a bit crazy...
+1 I have a Parrilla TT27 engine and direct drive '87 DAP Chassis kicking around somewhere.

I might know someone (not me) that is looking for a kart for his 13yo to get into the sport too.
