You gonna make an R , make it the top top performing 911

It does have aero. All below and an active spoiler that goes up when it is required. The car is more RS than a GT3, ie engine/exhaust/light weight components. Hence they priced it above a GT3. I agree I don't like the price nor the limited edition bs or stripes. But it is a fantastic car otherwise.

Lets take the choice of transmission out of the equation for a moment, its been established its a matter of personal preference. I think you are looking at it as the guy who would rather have a proper track toy or a proper grand tourer, which this 911 is neither, for less dow. You have to see this car for what its for. Take me for example. I dont particularly like to track my car anymore (I will explain why another time), but I would love for my 911 to have 500 NA HP and less weight so I can do 0-60-0 from traffic light to traffic light really quick. I dont really go for long trips anymore in my car either, so stiffer suspension, bucket seats and tail-happy cornering would be great. Yes, its not cheap, but it WILL grow in value guaranteed. And aside from the in-your-face stripes, how is it a poser car? Best building materials on the market, best engine in the entire 911 line up and all the other goodies. Besides, if you managed to get an allocation for one of these, you are definitely no poser. So anyway I look at it, this would be a dream car for me, even with the stripes.

I see what you are saying. That would be correct years ago. Porsche's philosophy has changed. There used to be just a few segments of 911 buyers. Over the years they put out so many 911 models to fill different needs, coming out with so many model designations, they do seem a bit "tangled up". Yes, it would probably be better if this car had a GTSR badge and was more attainable, but then we would complain that it is another parts bin exercise and it would not be as special at all.

98% of the porsche demographic are posers anyways.
middle aged geezers who sit in the left lane doing 100.
Not that anyone in here will likely own one of these cars. Id prefer it over a gt3 pdk any day, all day. The "R" designation is about the feelz. not meaningless milliseconds on shifts that you can brag about to the guys down at the club.
3000lbs and 500hp. Can't complain about that.

Firstly,I wouldn't want it. Secondly, I have been offered other limited edition models (eg GT3 RS 4.0, 911 turbo 918 edition,911/50 and I was asked if I wanted a 918). Sometimes it's who you know. I never asked about the 911R because I don't want to drive MT anymore. I am just part of the 98% of posers and geezers you alluded to.
