For those that have started the build, has anyone noticed any errors in the instructions or ambiguity? I swear I can't find the 2 parts listed on step 97 nor do I see where they are added in the illustration/diagram.

Never mind, I just found them... lunch is over now back to work LOL.

I finished the build last night with my 9 year old daughter helping most of the way. There were a few instructions I had to stare at for a bit to figure out and a couple things I had to go back and correct because I misunderstood, but no actual problems with the directions.

Unless you count the well published gear order with steps 267 and 269. I did it first how they said, then near the end of box 1 I put the wheels on and played with it. I then went back and pulled a few assemblies and swapped those steps so it would shift in order. When I first read of the shift order, I thought Lego messed up, but didn't want to reprint the huge manual. Now I see what they were talking about. With the gear set the way the manual says all gears ran well, but when changed to shift in order, two of the gears had a lot of drag. They worked fine, just had a lot of resistance, because of too many of the gears spinning at one time. I left it so it shifts sequentially.

My other thought on the transmission is it is not really a PDK. There is one white gear that is kind of like a clutch, but not two clutches, and it functions just like any manual, but with paddle shifters. Not disappointed at all, the mechanicals are very impressive.

Overall it took us 5 days to build and was so much fun. It is even bigger in real life than I thought it would be.

It is so realistic I've even gotten a Lego highway patrol speeding ticket!

Thanks. Here is a pic with my other, much smaller, Lego Porsches. This photo still doesn't give a true sense of size. Either of the Sally Carreras will fit in the trunk in place of the luggage.

I'm pretty sure we need a Lego tech forum.

The first run sold out. I would check with the Lego website that's where I got mine and the shipping was free.
