Default Canada Porsche Shop Spreadsheet

Here it is ladies and gentlemen, the directory of canadian porsche shops. Its in excel spread sheet format.

CLICKY HERE!!!!!!

Since rennlist wont allow xls files, ive offered to host it on my server. Everyone is free to add to it and update it. If you update/add anything to it, simply email me your copy of the file and ill update my servers copy. My email is edgehog2000@hotmail.com

If you have any other oddball files that you want hosted, let me know and I can put it up. I cant do big files (unless you mind waiting for it to download), word docs/etc are no prob.

If you want to speedtest my server, heres a link to a 1.8MB picture of the 944 im hoping to buy soon. Should peak at 60kb/sec.

DIE DIALUP DIE!!!!

I know a really kick *** mechanic here in Montreal... He's not a "Porsche Specialist" but works on the cars as if they were his own; and knows his stuff.

Can I add him?

Wow - Warden and Lawrence is 5 min from my house!

Delhi - can you tell us more? Have you been there? Trustworthy?

Would you take your "yet to be purchaced" 964 there?

Do tell! And do you have a precise address - I'll drop by tomorrow.

Thanks!

Yes RK, I've been there. IIRC the address is:
2139 Lawrence Ave. E.
It's located next to a tall building. Watch out for the dugged up middle portion of the street.
The owner/one man show guy's name is Jasper. a middle aged fellow who used to work at Pfaff. The place might not look too appealing but apparently he does alot of work for PCAUCR members and he himself is an avid DE fan. I believe he also owns a 944 turbo or something.
Yes! I would bring my "yet to be purchased" 964 there. Unfortunately I live in the west end which would implicate the logistics. Tell 'em it's Alwin the guy who test drove a silver 964 last saturday that recommended you. heh.

Default Mechanics, painters and anyone with tools in there garage

I've just been reading some other threads with costs of labour on there P cars. Some people are paying upwards of $100/hr for labour. Now I'm slowly building up a collection of tools and I'm not afraid to use them. I also have a one-man-tow system that would be loaned out if you need to move your car without using the engine, it bolts to the front bumper mounts after you remove the 2 bolts holding the bumper on, it doesn't require anyone in the car so all you need is a tow hitch and a decient tow vehicle. I am on the lookout for a decient mig welder but that will have to wait. Most of my tools are back in the UK so I will have to make do with odd's and sods for the moment, I have enough to do most jobs without having to worry to much and if anyone in the local area needs a hand with there car I'll be more than happy to lend a hand. I also will be making a few trips to the UK so I may be able to pick up some parts that seem to be rather expensive here, for example I picked up a couple of headlight covers for less than $10 the pair. Anyhow, anyone else out there able to offer services, or even need things done, I know that as winter draws neer most are locking there baby's away, but I'll be undertaking a few little projects as soon as I clear a bit more room in the garage. Thought I'd offer my services as the list is a little pityful.

Default Garage pit

Adie, this is really off topic but since I just spent 2 lifetimes on my back on the garage floor doing the Torque Tube replacement I am looking for alternatives. My garage is oversize but lacks the cealing height to put in a lift but a friend of mine has a decent backhoe and has offered to dig a pit on one side of my garage. I figure I'd dig it out to the required height and do the width sufficiently to line the walls with cinder block and mortar, would also put in a couple of decent size braces to support the walls. After that it will be motor mounts.
Any comments?
Also to all of the Canucks in the Ont. Central and East areas - - - -surprised that no one has suggested getting all together - in a central location for all - to discuss opportunities for advancing the exposure and knowledge of the Porsche Marque -regardless of the model.
Picton is midway between Toronto and Ottawa and there are good options for a meeting place -from Very Fine Cuisine and lodging to Beer and Sawdust (Type) - - -Comments?

I asked a couple of folks if the Toronto types gather - it appears not.

Let's FIX that!

Picton is a great spot and a great reason for a drive. With the weather tutning and many cars being put away for the winter - maybe this is best left till Spring?

Let's get something going for the first nice weekend in May!

Default Lets do it

Rally Guy, OK, first, not that this can't run with out me - I won't be back from sailing til early June, still early enough to miss the big vacation run and later to have more consistant weather. But if the group wants to meet earlier fair enough and I don't mind helping organize anyway.

How about I semd you a PM to flesh this out first.
