Default Tire Leaking

2007 911 Base Carerra
Have a leak in my drivers side rear tire.
Holds at about 32 psi
Need to get it repaired or replaced before storing it for the winter this weekend.
It'll hold enough pressure to get me to a shop same day.
Michelin Pilot Sport
265/40 ZR18
Can anyone recommend a tire shop in the east end, Pickering / Ajax / Whitby that deals with Porsche
and can be trusted?
Thanks
Zookie might be a little far.....sorry Zook...

This is a pretty simple job that any good tire place can do. Metal should not touch your rim. Price is big variable. Usually about $30 but I paid $70 once in an emergency, though they did re-balance it.

I just noticed the "Good Place to Patch a Tire in GTA" post a few lines below.
Also good info for my dilemna.
If I pressurize the tire before I leave I shoukd be able to make it to Simply Tire.
I'll give Zookie a call tomorrow see if they have time on Saturday.
If Im not confident to make it there keep the recommendations coming for the East end.
Thanks

Could always take the wheel off altogether.

Thats also an option I was thinking about.
Seems like a bit of a hassle to get the car mounted on Jack Stands.....to support the car while the wheel is off for the day.....and...I dont have jack stands.
Do you happen to know anyone with jack stands or even better....a garage lift?

Front tire you can turn and spin to inspect. Rear tire is a little more difficult to inspect. Sometime's I can find the offending nail or screw? If its a puncture, you need to take the wheel off the car and use soapy water to make bubbles. I'm assuming your on the way to the shop for the repair. Bring some cash. They often have a better deal for cash

Easy DIY repair with a $10 kit from Canadian Tire. if it's a screw or nail. Takes less than 10 minutes, and, if you can see/reach the puncture you can do it with the tire on.

I'll take a look tonight with a flashlight and mirror to see if I can find the offending fod.

Do the cheap CT plugs really work?
I think I'd prefer the internal plug.

Will.....do you have any jack stands and do you know where to support the car if I need to take the wheel off?

Thanks again for all the advice.

Did the 07's come with a spare? if so pull the offending wheel and put the spare on, no need for stands then.
CTC plugs well. I would use the plug and if your still not convinced have it patched from the inside at a later date, at the very least it will buy you some time and you'll have the kit should you ever need it in a pinch.

I used to be really bad about sweeping out the garage into the driveway and not picking up all the random screws and nails. After I patched tires 3 times within a year or two, I learned my lesson But yes, the patches hold perfectly well over several years. I've never had one fail, even the first one I ever did. I've probably done 5 or 6 of them over the years.

The only exception would be track tires - I wouldn't run a patched tire at the track because of the additional heat and strain on it.
