Default H&R Lowering springs - Regret?

Ok, probably should have done a bit more researched on this but jumped on it while at the shop when it was recommended. Long story short, I ended up putting on 45mm H&R spacers on my rear to push out my bbs/pirelli and with that it was recommended to put H&R springs...which I ...hey jumped at...now I'm not liking it as much as it does rub over some rolling bumps in my neighborhood. Too late, lesson learned ....maybe :-) Maybe I either get new spacers at 35mm vs. the 45mm I have on and perhaps this could fix the rubbing and or go the expensive way and upgrade to Pss10 coilovers.....

thoughts? sigh...fun and games and money....

I have some 20 or 25mm spacers at home from ECS I would have to check. I could probably trade ya as I could use wider spacers.

45mm!!?

What offset are the rims? I have 18mm spacers on my widebody and thought they were reasonably aggressive (but no rubbing). Am not surprised with those monster spacers and lowering springs that it rubs. But as suggested, new spacers should solve/help the problem. PSS10's is a very expensive option....

What is your rim offset? 45mm spacer is pretty big in my opinion.
I'd talk to Turbojamie first see if he want to trade.
Sounds like you should test fit before buying your new spacers.
Bring your jack...
I loved my H&R's. What I hatted were the terrible Toronto roads.

Holy cow 45mm!!!?! What's the ride like with all of that weight on your wheels?

Also a note on springs; it's best to match a good set of sport shocks with the springs; otherwise you'll bounce around like kids in VWs and Hondas until your OE shocks blow. I'd splurge for a set of dampening adjustable Konis or Bilstien shocks that compliment your H&R's spring rates. Or read up on the best combos!

Yea, I lowered my 996 on H&R springs. It was really rough. Cornered like it was on rails though! ****ty pot holed filled roads don't help either. Let me guess to much negative camber at the rear too?

The original spacers were 12mm which are now on the front. Here's the plot of them.

Rims are BBS RS925H

ok widebody car running narrow body wheels, explains the wheel spacers. 7mm is about all you should go in front not 12, 12mm work for stock rear wheel offsets and tires but not with winter wheel sizes when lowered.

Thought that was the case. The original owner had this configuration with the 12mm on the rears. I guess other then the springs it's easier just to remove the front 12mm spacer all together and reduce the rear spacers. Funny how this recommendation came from a know shop that races Porsche but he had no concerns of what he recommended. I guess sometimes it's better to ask within rennlisters if you're unsure and not so much some known shop. Not too expensive of s lesson but an annoying one nevertheless.

Well...rather not say on the public forum...pm me if you want to know. When I brought it up I was told nothing is ever perfect. Guess not!😔. Time to move on and find a quick and cheap solution. I can alway resell the H&R spacers. I'll keep the H&R springs on for now.

Do you have the springs installed on all four or just rear?

Lowering does effect what you can get away with. You could use those spacers np with stock height.

They installed springs front and rear. They measured and calculated and said that was the best fit.
