Anyone with MaxJax lift in GTA?
I am just about to install a MaxJax in my garage and having some doubts about the column spacing for usage on a 86' 951.
Anybody around GTA that can share experience / let me come over and take a look?
Thanks in advance.

When you said column spacing are you thinking not enough room in width or too much? They have telescopic arms where you can increase the length of the arms if required.
I have one and in Hamilton. I have had it for about 5 years or so. I love it. Perfect for my use as I find a full size lift is actually too short for my 6'4" frame (plus I don't have the room in my garage). More than welcome to come and see it. Nice thing is that it is also portable and you can put it away if you want.

As for the spacing dilemma I am trying to see if I can work out to have the columns set for my 996tt, and at the same time use that set up on the 951. So, with the 996tt, with a wide body looks like I need 125" spacing minimum from outside to outside of the base plates to not worry about centering the car in order to avoid rolling the car back and forth to clear the lift arms.
Played a bit with a dry fit checks with the 951, at 125" apart, and I might be too far out with the posts to reach the inner side members at the front lift points while still keep it as much centered against the posts as possible. This is even with the front lift arms at full extended position.
I hope if I see the lift and you guys that already work on it for years I might find I miss something and pick up some ideas.
Thanks again.

hey Mile,
I have a Maxjax, used on both 996's and 951's, if you're in my area and want to check it out or have any questions let me know
Cheers,
Rob

This for a 993...maybe widths are similar. The front to back distance between my jack points is 49 inches.
130 inches from the outside of each column base plate. I would not want my columns apart any wider.
This allowed me to place my car either centered (front to back) with respect to the column or more forward (centered on the C of G) where the front arms are more extended.
My installation.
