I was talking with my neighbours yesterday evening and they're so bummed out the Jays lost the last two. Looks like some bandwagoner's might be jumping off.

Geez. I told them theres 162 games in the season and the Jays have played 118 to date. They have 44 games left to play! The best teams usually have a winning percentage of about .600 - that means they LOSE about 40% of their games!

So, if the Jays lose 18 games out the remaining 44...they'll finish with 90 wins. I'm hoping they'll do better, but hey, that's baseball!

I think my neighbours left feeling a little better, but some of the luster is gone now.

30th Anniversary of the 1985 Jays 1st AL East title presentation to alumni players was really nice too!

Commemorative illustrations given to the alumni by their modern day replacements.
Who remembers the players by number ?

Had to miss the game today due to wedding, but heard it was a good game. Nice shots Will, thanks.

I love these low scoring games, they are generally more intense.

who presented to Dave Steib ? one of my favorite Jays ever.

i was one of those guys that used to get the A and P tickets for 4.00 and sit out in the bleachers at old exhibition stadium. One of the best parts was the bleachers there were covered, the expensive seats werent . Saw all kinds of fights in the stands when Detroit used to come to town.

Before the kids, I would enjoy the Saturday afternoon games... hat, sunglasses, and water... best place in Toronto to nurse a Friday night hangover...

Somehow my wife is a coach in the East York baseball league where my 9 year olds play... So, we are getting slowly indoctrined to baseball culture...

To help out the Ice man:

16: Garth Iorg - 2nd base - Ryan Goins
5: Rance Mulliniks - 3rd base - Josh Donaldson
1: Tony Fernandez - Short stop - Troy Tulowitzky
43: Cito Gaston - Manager - John Gibbons
11: George Bell - Left field - Ben Revere
13: Buck Martinez - Catcher - Russel Martin
15: Lloyd Moseby - Centre field - Kevin Pilar
29: Jesse Barfield - Right field - Jose Bautista
37: Dave Stieb - Pitcher - Mark Buehrle
50: Tom Henke - Reliever - LaTroy Hawkins
26: Willie Upshaw - 1st base - Justin Smoak

Those '85 Jays had a record of 99-66. Still a Jay's record and Steib is still the only Jay with a no hitter.

holy Crap . Barfield and Bautista what a couple of greats there. I always thought Rance looked more like the team accountant.

i remember Rance giving way to young up and comer Kelly Gruber.. Boy does this bring back memories ..

I remember Junior Felix catching the last ball on a fly ball to preserve Dave Stiebs no hitter. Funny thing was it was a really boring game until you started to sniff the no hitter.

Do you remember outfielders Bell and Barfield being called the Killer "B"s with Moseby in the middle?

Have a look at this video of the presentation.
