1983 VW Rabbit... similar to this picture but black with beige interior and a gold pinstripe. Bought it from my older brother for $300 after he had driven it into the ground for a couple years. Highlights included a full interior swap from a wrecked Civic Si hatchback and oversized (14 inch!) wheels from a Nissan NX2000.

It was my first car and I learned to drive stick somewhat successfully... unfortunately it ended up losing 1st and 3rd gear after a while so it was not the most pleasant daily driver. I do still have fond memories though as my friends and I got into a lot of trouble in that thing while in high school.

First time behind a wheel was in my dad's 1985 Cadillac Fleetwood - 2 door.
Very similar to the picture below.
It was HUGE! It was his dream car and his weekend toy.
It barely fit in the garage, you literally had to touch the wall with your front bumper in the garage in order for the garage door to close behind you.
You also had to slide over to the passenger seat to get in and out when parked in the garage....good times. SO much chrome on the car it was nuts....
My first manual car was a 2000 Honda Civic SIR. Loads of fun!

My Dad's 1984 Audi 4000S. It was a pretty good car until my brother totalled it.
Looked like this:

1957 Plymouth Plaza inline 6 with three on the tree on the dirt back roads north of Cobourg. We had to be careful though as I was only thirteen at the time, but Dad thought I should know how to drive. I'm still working on it.

I worked at a gas station when I was 13 (1973). I learned to drive on whatever customers cars that were in for repair. That included learning to drive standard.

My Dad's '92 Integra 5-speed when I was 14.

Actually.... I really learned when I was 12 and bought my Honda XR100 dirt bike. That little bike taught me about shifting gears and the balance between a clutch and throttle, and also to always drive it like you stole it!
