I remember one 2 or 3 years back in the same area was held at Papillion on the Park bistro (Eastern and Coxwell area) and decent parking was available as well.

Yup that venue worked great. Beware, there are a number of (mildly) competitive events coming up, I'm going to both Italian car day and the bmw super car day over the next few weekends, for example.
There's also the air cooled gathering soon too.
But as a Beacher, keen to support a local gathering.

HAHAHAHA! I'm of the opinion that only jerks and a-holes actually eat at Boston Pizza, so you guys must be a-o-k!
With the variety of automotive gatherings already available on weekends, does a weekday or weekend evening make more sense? 6-9 or 7-10 or something like that? Easy for me to say, as I don't have kids.
Hitch is great, but yes...parking! PPo, do you know Doug? If we gathered at 6pm on a weekday, maybe we could commandeer a full block of street parking.

I'm in and also agree that Boston Pizza is garbage.
I think a weekday evening would be great too... 7-10 would be perfect. Hitch would be good for a drink but not remotely optimal in terms of parking. I'll try and think of another location in the area that could work.
Although it is in the same plaza as the Boston Pizza I've seen other car meets happening in the side lot to the west of the Shoppers in the Canadian Tire plaza... the part of the lot that backs onto Lakeshore. It is generally wide open and close to a Starbucks too in case anyone wants to grab a coffee. Just a thought.

A weekday gathering would be ideal... Le Papillion is a great place, but Eastern is a mess these days and it's also a popular parking spot for Rugby, Soccer, Baseball and the lot is always full in the summer.
I am going to suggest Rally's. http://www.rallysportsbar.com/
Free parking, large lot, close to Beach/Leslieville and they serve food/drinks etc.
As for dates/times, I will suggest August 19th, 7:00pm.
Please provide feedback... If there is enough interest I will call ahead and let Rally's know we are coming.

Well, I sure have to endorse a place called "Rally". ; )
This is close to G-tek - perhaps they'd sponsor a night/guest speak etc? Just a thought.
The 18th or 20th are much better for me - but a weeknight is a great idea - count me in.
RK
PS - yeah I grew up in the beach and am now still very close - and yes come see the red car. It's a lot of fun.

I organized the first Beach meet at Papillion on the Park and would recommend that location again. Easy good parking. Great food. Awesome patio. The mgmt was awesome to deal with too.
Wherever you choose, enjoy!

Would you guys take pity on a temporarily Porsche-less Porschephile and let me join the meet (car is in the shop waiting for new custom-grind cams) if I drive… um, something made by the other Stuttgart-based marque and park it far away on the other side of the lot (I’ll even promise to wear P-car swag if it helps)?
