Default Went to Ireland and loved it

Spent a week there and loved every minute. Dublin is a great city and the country side even better.

I suggest renting a small car, the smaller the better. We had an Opel Astra 1.6 diesel and at times it felt gigantic on the road.. Purchase the extra insurance as well. Driving the Atlantic way was great great fun!

How far north did you go?

I lived an hour north of Belfast for 35 years

When the weather is good its a stunning country - but - it rains pretty much all the time and I don't miss that at all

Never thought I`d say it but give me Alberta`s dry, cold (super cold) snowy winters over rain anyday

Just stayed around Belfast to be honest. I can live with the EUR CDN exchange rate but not the GBP CDN.. However Ireland is pricey for the most part. A pint is 5-6€ compared with Germany where I was paying 2-3€ .. Luckily lodging was taken care of as one of my best friends lives in Dublin 4.

I loved Ireland but it rained or was cloudy way too much to really enjoy it. Hence the Emerald isle is fitting.

I spent 2 months in Northern Ireland

Interesting, do you remember approximately when?

The bad summers definitely outweigh the good ones (by a long way......!)

We were there for 3 weeks in June, and had a fantastic time; can't wait to go back.

We took a 12 day tour around the Island, including the North, and did independent travel the rest of the time. Enjoyed driving a BMW 218d on the new Motorway.

The Irish are just wonderful people.
