blackvue dash cam with power magic pro
thanks
thanks
I just hardwired my Blackvue DR650GW-2CH WITH Blackvue Power Magic Pro today and I got everything running properly.
I know you have a 996 but I have a 2007 911 Turbo (997.1) and the following worked for me.
I used a double tap fuse in ROW A, slot 7 for the BATTERY wire (yellow = constant power) from the Magic and another double tap fuse in ROW C, slot 6 for the ACC+ wire (red = switched power with ignition). Obviously just ground the black wire.
FYI,
ROW A, slot 7 = right tail light, rear fogs lights constant power.
ROW C, slot 6 = rear window wiper, park assist. (my car is not equipped with
either wiper or park assist.) This is switched power that
coincides with the ignition. When the ignition is on this fuse
location has power and when the ignition is off the fuse has no
power.
Everything is working properly. The multi boot switch on the Magic Pro is green when the switch is on the (-) and the green light goes off when the switch is on the (o). I leave my multi-boot on (-).
I have my Magic Pro set to kill the power when my battery gets to 11.8V and my timer is configured to infinity.
I hope this helps. I read people say all Porsche's can't be hard wired with the Blackvue Magic Pro, not just the 996 and earlier? Either I got lucky or it can be done.
Good luck to everyone with this issue,
Andy
If anyone needs pictures I could snap some and post them if people want.

Hey Andy. Where did you put that ground wire? I have a 997.2 C2S and I am having the darndest time trying to find a ground near the fuse box. Thanks in advance.
It has been a while since I did it.
From what I recall, back when I did this I spliced into the ground wire from the 12V power plug
on the passenger side foot well. You will have to splice a wire into that ground and trace the
back to the Magic Pro near your fuse box. There maybe an easier way but that's the ground I used.
Later when I added more stuff like my front proximity sensors I ended up putting a thick gauge wire
directly from the car's ground nut into the cabin. This one wire is my new dedicated ground wire.
Hope this helps you,
A
