Default TPMS

Got the summer wheels on the 2008 Cayman S and it seems my TPMS batteries are dead and dying. Dealer wants over $700.00 to replace them. Lower cost alternative? I'm annoyed by the dash warning.

I'm confused. The tire pressure warning system has it's own battery?

The sensors themselves have a small battery in each sensor. Over time they do die.... Some of the tons batteries can be replaced (I think I've seen on YouTube)

I second OEWheels. Give them a call after a quick look at their website.
I just bought 4 HUF sensors from them. HUF is the OEM sensor. Some after markets available for cheaper, but OEWheels told they were having problems with them on 2005-2008 997.1 cars. Call them to see what they say about Caymans.
They also ship USPS so duties are just HSTplus $10 brokerage fee.

Keep in mind that OEWheels has 2 options...the OEM sensors have been reduced from $600 odd to $300 which is a better bang for your buck that the Titan sensors that are around $170 because they don't always work. Apparently the 997 controller is a little finiky and I had to return a set of Titan sensors to OEWheels but they were awesome and refunded the cost to me.

Rant Warning: More unnecessary, expensive technology. The winner is start-stop technology though. Cars consume hardly any gas at idle

Pfaff told me it cannot be disabled. The tech tried. What do you know that they don't? If someone here can disable it so it does not come back on I would gladly come by with beer and or cigars
