Default Cab Side Flap

I've got a lazy passenger side flap on my cab. When I purchased the car last year, the top wouldn't go down because the flap wouldn't move. I've lubed it up and cycled it numerous times and now I can get it to work but it takes a few seconds (10 - 15), for it to complete it's travel.

I don't readily see a way to pull the screwjack assembly from the car. I figure if I can get it out, I can clean and lube the threads properly and maybe even open the motor and clean the stator/brushes and get it working as it should.

Has anyone done this? Tips? Things to watch out for?

Thanks,
Mark

Mark, I dont have any advise for you since I dont own a cab but you would probably get more input from a model specific forum like 911 or 997 (you dont mention what year your car is)

Good luck
Stan

Welcome aboard Mark. Looks like you are local to me and few other Porsche guys.

What model and year is your Porsche?

Thanks for the welcome.

It's a 2015 918 Spyder.

Wait. No, it's a 2000 996 C2 Cab. The car had and still has a few snags that I'm working through. I know I can get past this one if there's a straightforward way to get the mech out.

Any input is appreciated.
