Probably jinxing myself now but I've never had an issue running without a front plate...and I drive my car everywhere...they probably know it's not hard to find a GT2...
That said, if the bumper is not pre-drilled, I'd put a small patch of clearbra on the front where the plate goes(so 2 sided tape doesn't wreck paint when removed), then use 2sided body tape on top of that and secure the plate that way

I was pulled over first week with my car on Queen St. East. I wouldn't risk it...I showed the cop my order via Gmail and he was okay with it. My car also had 400kms on it so the "its a brand new car" excuse worked.
I wouldn't do tape as I did that on my NSX-T and the plate in wind went - bye bye...
I have a US Millworks set-up. Excellent quality - highly recommended. Bolts into the tow hook connection, so no drilling. Also takes seconds to remove the plate if you so desire.

When I had my 951, I got pulled over 2 times on Queen St. East for not having a front plate. I live in Leslieville/Beach area, so I am always there, but I thought it was a bit excessive.
The second time I had it on the dash because I took it off for a track weekend. It was 7am on Sunday morning, just started the car heading to the track, and he pulled me over because I was driving suspiciously slow with a rollbar and no front license plate. He didn't buy the track weekend excuse despite the fact I had a 5 point harness and race seats installed... and a helmet in the passenger seat...
Anyhow... Good luck to those that don't get pulled over in Ontario without a plate. But my guess is that your time will come...
no doubt there will eventually be a cop who finds the 'no plate' to be an offense worth stopping me/us for....so far every cop just looks at the car and keeps driving, idling, etc. (ie. not in demand anywhere else, could easily stop me 'just because')
My GT2 has had the front plate sitting in front trunk since the day I brought it home
Why Ontario doesn't just get rid of the front plate altogether I don't understand, it would be the 'green' thing to do; potentially better fuel economy (lol) and and less 'waste'...and of course still charge the same or more for 1 vs 2.....
I like the tow hook one that angles away and down. The cops aim their laser radar at the plate and if it doesn't reflect back to the gun, no reading. I have been pulled over for no front plate, it is a hassle and possible they may find something to ticket you for so I use a front plate. I don't like the plate on the dash in front window because they are sharp and in the case of an accident can slit your throat...not a good idea.
