Wow sellers markets I guess. I must say after seeing Ronans's green 997.1 RS, the 997.2 is really ugly compared to it.

I've never seen a 997 I didn't like Greg but love GT3's and Turbo's especially since they're the last manuals.

It's nuts what's going on with these cars. There's so much interest I wouldn't be surprised if prices stay flat even as the 991 RS is delivered later this year. Has all the right elements to become a very good investment.

Gooding is kinda weird. Their selling prices surprised me before. Like this restored 912 that sold for a record $82K http://www.goodingco.com/vehicle/1966-porsche-912/

Good for me, I suppose, but these are not real world prices IMO

997RS, .2RS and 4.0LRS are all really good 911s... the are both modern and classic.

Watch these cars age well. They scream and howl like hot rods right out of the box.
Some much racing DNA in them.

They are not neccessarly the fastest cars of their time but they check all the boxes.

Watch where these cars will be in 20 years....

1500 miles on that thing. I really don't see the point in buying an amazing car like that and then letting it sit in the garage. That's a crying shame.

Like I said during our speculative discussion on gold several years ago, I have no idea what will happen but I see much downside risk.

I have no real ideas about future values and tend to buy the cars I want to drive. Good if they increase, no tragedy if they depreciate like most cars.

A few years ago when I got my 993 future values were a consideration. I was debating between a Cayman S, 997, Turbo 996 and the 993. At the time the 993 was the cheapest and I figured if I bought it and didn't like it (slowest, least comfortable and oldest) I could sell it for what I paid and buy something else. The other options would all be cheaper in 3 or 4 years and the 993 would hold value.

Of course, the 993 has gone up quite a bit in value so that's worked out well. Never mind the $20-40K up front savings, if I were to sell now and buy one of the other cars I'd likely have cash in my pocket. It's not a garage queen, I drive it, but looking back I'm glad I made the decision I did. If you're debating between different cars I think that future value can be the deciding factor.
