Default Child's highback booster seat for 997 - $50 @ Walmart

My wife and I have been keeping an eye out for a safe highback booster my four year old daughter. We came across the "Harmony Dreamtime 2" Deluxe Comfort Booster Seat which had excellent safety reviews and gave it a shot. The seat fits like a glove and the best part is the price - $49.88 @ Walmart. Thought I'd share so other dads and moms looking for a quality, affordable seat could benefit.

No install pics yet but the seat bottom sits flush with the bottom of the seat and there is no "wiggle". This is in the back of a 2005 997 Carrera.

Enjoy!

Yup, it comes attached under the base of the booster. Don't think it will fit when installed in the 997 (as if I would let my four year old have anything to eat our drink back there lol) but if you're tossing this into another vehicle you can clip the cup holder on either side.

My experience with booster seats in the back of the 997 is that the version with the back were not very comfortable for my kids.

The seat back in the rear seats is very vertical and putting in a seat that had a back made it worse and my kids did not like it much. Also the arm rests combined with the high center tunnel made it difficult for my kids to do up their seat belt.

My solution was to buy the Apramo Child Booster Seat from Canadian Tire and cut off the little arms on the side so now all you have is a seat with no back or arms. Depending on the age or size of your kids (mine are 6 and 8) this may not work but my kids are real happy with it.

Thanks for the advice guys!

I am currently looking at 997s, and plan to have kids in the back seats.

These tips are very helpful.

I would never consider having kids in the back seats, hospitals are much safer.

I'm wondering about this too. Maybe I should pick one up and try it, and return it if it doesn't work...

No experience in the back of a 993 but you can always return to Walmart! The dimensions of the base made it a perfect fit for the 997 so it would be cool to see it work in other models. Plenty of room to increase the height of the headrest as the child grows so I can't see that being an issue.

A high back booster sits pretty far upright but keep in mind these cars have no upper head rest support in the back, which is exactly why we felt the high back was the only option as our 4yr old grows. In fact I loved it so much that I almost bought a second matching one for my younger 20 month old to graduate into but it'll lose a few years off its life before she has a chance to use it.

guys part of the safety feature of a booster is the arms keep the belts low as opposed to crushing higher up internal organs. I would not cut the arms off the seat.

pics of this installed in your car? Does your kid have to cross his/her legs to be able to sit back there?

As a matter of fact I just snapped this the other day for a buddy of mine. It fits nicely with or without the leather seat bottom (which pulls up easily since it's only secured with Velcro). I have an old towel thrown down to protect the leather. And no you don't need the child to cross their legs.
