Default Watkins Glen with PCA Niagara - May 25/26 2015

I signed up this morning (clubregistration.net)!

Anybody else planning to attend this event? It would be great to find some others to drive down with, and maybe split some hotel costs (Seneca Lodge)!

The List:
  1. Jonathan (me)
  2. GreatWhiteNorth
  3. fnel1771
  4. Quinlan
  5. Jonathon (Rolstin)
  6. Danny (maybe)

Hmmm tempting. Stupid noob question as I have never taken part in a HPDE event, are Boxster's allowed?

Absolutely! A lot of boxster's attend the events. Have you done PCA's introductory driving school (IDS)? If not, I would recommend that as a starting point before hitting the track, they may even mandate it (I think PCA has one in early May). Signup for that opens Jan 10 I believe. It's fairly inexpensive and you learn a lot to prepare for bigger track events.

Some footage from this event at WGI last year:

Fantastic event, I went with Jonathan last year and it was an absolute blast... I suffered an oil leak and couldn't run more than one session, but still had a great time. The atmosphere and people are amazing, and Seneca Lodge is really interesting to say the least.

Danny, you should sign up now, save yourself the spot, and you can always cancel free of charge up to 30 days in advance if the car doesn't come through!

Niagara runs a great event. Last year they combined the black and red groups, so they ran with three run groups (instructed, solo and advanced). TONS of track time, especially for the advanced drivers.
You can't beat the experience of spending some time in the bar at the Seneca Lodge with Jonathan and Jonathon!
I'm signed up! Hopefully I make it through Sebring at the end of this month

Jonathon where did you spring your leak ? I'm in the middle of a top end job and replacing studs. Anything to watch out for ?

Breather cover.

Watch out for triangle of death... Breather cover / hose, Oil light pressure switch, and thermostat o-ring.

Those should be done if you have it out.

Also RMS seal if you have a clutch alignment tool is easy to get to. And Oil-cooler o-rings while you are there too I suppose... If you pull the oil cooler might as well get it pressure tested. We can test @ Response Engineering if you can't find someone.
