There was another Boxter in group 1. He is a co-worker of mine and has a black '02 S with black BBS looking rims . I've talked him out of buying an S2000.

Sweet! Can't wait to see more pics pop up over the next week.

Clive; the new Fuchs look OUTSTANDING on the Targa! I love how they transformed the car!

Hopefully I'll make it out to next year's event!

Thanks Jacob i like the look too. unfortunately performance tire choice is becoming limited and expensive in 16 inch wheels. the 17 inch cup wheels allow me far more tire choice and the rear rim is about 9 inches wide. the car itself handles way better with the cups. i decided to out all season on the Fuchs to give me some flexibility and i can now drive in sub zero temps as the Re050s on 17s are scary and uncomforatable at those temps.

so needless to say the car looks way more period correct in spring and fall

We had at least one boxster, I remember noting the porsche decal along the door, and how I really like it on a boxster. I do wish we had some 944s.

Did anyone see the 991 targa that passed us just outside Niagara on the Lake? First one I've seen in person, and I love it so much. IMO it's the prettiest water cooled vehicle Porsche has ever made.

Good list of tips for next year. I'm going to add one - I'd like to redesign the route on a different platform that can be sent out and imported into a Garmin, Tomtom, Magellan, etc. I had a GPS logger running on my blackberry, so hopefully that's captured the route in a data format I can work with. But I think we all agree having print maps is frustrating.

And yes, there were definitely more stoplights this time, and that caused some problems. We'll fix that next year. Live and learn, right?

But I do love the longer run-up to the tunnel. Downshift to third, run it up to redline, up to 4th then back down with my own personal James Bond smoke screen

Christien

I think I may have a picture of that very car. I saw it earlier in the morning at Tim Hortons while waiting for my buddy. I also caught a brief glimpse of a red 991 GT3 at the same location. It left before I could get my camera out but its wing is just visible in a picture I got with my phone. I was hoping to see them at the event but clearly that's not why they were there. Later in the afternoon I passed the same Targa in Vineland when i was on my way back to pick up my better half in Welland.

Robin

thanks for jumping in to take the lead, I think my wife was pleased to not have to navigate a group first time out.
