I recently visited the dealer and Indy in Oakville on the same day. Holly polar opposites batman.
I must say I have to give kudos to Porsche Centre Oakville for having excellent staff and top notch customer service. Keep it up.

I'm guessing since I didn't pull up in my C4S the times I went there to get parts, I was completely ignored by everyone. No "hello", no "can I help direct you somewhere?"..nothing. The staff was having a good time with each other though. LOL. They should turn up the "friendly" a little more! Who knows, maybe when we're retiring my wife's BMW, we will explore a Macan as a replacement.

I also do 100% of my own work (hate going in for safety's and e-tests..)
But for those looking for a dealer, IMO nothing compares to Porsche of London... Oakville is nice enough, but seems sterile and 'big-business'...London still has a old-Porsche/family vibe to it

You must all be too young to remember the meaning of rude? Did any of you ever deal with Ludwig Heimrath? He was rude even while I was signing the cheque for my new 964. I have zero interest in home maintenance (to each their own) and when I used to use the odd INDY shop I had way more issues than using a dealer. I have never had an issue with Pfaff and always feel welcome...although the Jetta courtesy cars have to go. The new cars are just so computer driven that I would never let anyone else touch my car. Maybe an oil change but that's it. Different strokes for different folks.

^^ funny I would never let a dealership touch my 993. I agree with you on the modern stuff just too technical, computer driven etc and most ind installers simply can't afford the latest tech gear required to service them properly.

Funny... I find the computer parts make the car easier to work on. I have a Bluetooth ODB reader... I read a code, replace an expensive black box, and move forward. The mechanics don't actually fix any of the computers or relays... they swap and prey!

Now thats funny right there. It is true enough though that logic controls have simplified most repair issues as the system looks after stuff. Ever try synchronizing carburetors and adjusting timing by turning on the distributor? It does come down to reading and interpreting the codes, so techs really have become software engineers.

I regularly go into Pfaff Woodbridge just to get 944 turbo oil filters. The gentleman in parts is one of the nicest guys I've ever met.Always treats me with the utmost respect and best service. So much so that I thanked him for his always excellent service last time I was there.

Porsche oakville offers the best service experience I have experienced in 25 years of premium car ownership. Every staff member encountered seems to go above and beyond. They truly deserve the accolades. I'm having some major work done now, the level of communication is exceptional.

My go to guy is Mike K. the owner of German Autotech in Waterloo. Great guy and always helpful. I use him as my parts guy. Prices seem comparable to US sourced stuff, less shipping hassles.
I've had good luck with VW Waterloo with Rust warranty work on my new to me 2006 Jetta tdi.
Crosby Audi for warranty work on my wife's q7 tdi. Morgan the service manager is a neighbour and brings the car in, so it's a no brainer.
Midtown Audi in Asiancourt (Toronto) stepped up to the plate and repainted & repaired a door for my wife's q7.we had bought the car there CPO, and it became evident that the door had been repainted at some point before we bought it. No cost, including a free Audi A4 rental for the week.
