The comparison in size and girth as they are 'refined' is certainly apparent when they are side by side

Likely the same car Lorraine Sommerfield had a couple of months ago for a few days, same Basalt Black and red interior. I did a quick photo shoot with just the Targa and then with my car too. Also did a full sequence of opening/closing of the Targa top, so I can make an animation .gif one day.

BTW, apparently it's NOT "991" Targa, but rather "911" Targa, Lorraine corrected me when I sent her some of the images, I thought for sure she had gotten it wrong, but then I realized she was right when I checked my images of the emblem at the back.

It indeed said "911 Targa"!

IMO, the best looking water cooled 911 yet. Though I still think the SC is prettier

Ken regardless of what Porsche marketing dept would have you believe internally you can bet it's the 991 Targa. Similar to the way they call 964,, 993,,996, and 997 all 911s. You never see the true model number on those cars either. Branding is huge.

To me the different generations of Targas will still be recognized as follows as they are all very different cars

911 softback
911
964
993
996
991

Great story and great to see the air cooled 911s being recognized as classics now. As Gorgeous as the new 991 Targa is, The older Targa will be boat loads of more fun to drive around in just because of the size and no electronic ads.

Porsche nuts will always call 911's by there generation code, your average person will refer to all 911s by just that.

That's awesome.

If he needs another targa to add to the photoshoot I'd be willing. Just need to clean up the car a little

Very cool...glad you had the time to be able to pull over. I'd be interested to see the other photos taken and how they spin the article to see if they include any material about your car and/or the different '911' models.

Good work !

I'm sure you included plenty of selfless Rennlist plugs ?
