Yorkdale Mall Valet Parking
Just wondering about Valet Parking at Yorkdale Mall.
If I drive the P Car to Yorkdale, I'm gonna want to park it in valet.
So how does it work?
Do you hand the car over and let them park it.
I think I'd prefer to park it myself.
Do you keep the keys or give them to the valet guy
I suppose theres a fee to park it there
and what's an appropriate tip?
Tip when you drop it off or when you pick it up, or both?
Thnx

If I know the place I'm going only offers valet with no possibility of self-parking, I'll take one of the other cars (automatics) and never the Porsche. A new clutch is a bit steep of a price to pay for "status parking". It also helps that one of my other cars has a Valet Alert mode that will geofence the car to 350m from it's location and notify me via the cellphone app if it becomes involved in a remake of Ferris Bueller's Day Off.

My wife and I like to go to Yorkdale once in awhile.
If parking the P car in Valet is safer than the general parking lot, I'd prefer to park it there.
Park it myself, pay the fee, and keep the keys.
I 'd like to know if anyone does that, there.
Seems like a reasonable question.
I don't want to not drive the car whenever I want to go somewhere.
It has nothing to do with status and everything to do with doordings and idiots who park beside you.

My company demo is a 2014 Infiniti Q50 S hybrid. The telematics in it include Infiniti Connection + which allows me to remotely control features in the car with the smartphone app (Destination Send-to-Car, Lock/Unlock, Drive Zone Monitoring, Max speed Alert and Valet Mode). I'm not sure if there isn't an aftermarket system that would give you the same thing...it's just a matter of time.

I have not used the valet though.

I avoid valet at all costs. If a hotel has valet only, I will look for one that has self parking. It makes no sense to me to have to pay extra (+ tip) to have someone molest your car and take no responsibility for any damage that occurs.
