I'm not up to date on 987 prices but it seems a little high to me for a base model.
Models until 2009 can suffer from the IMS failure. IIRC, it's actually harder to fix (requires engine teardown) on a 987 than on a 986.

My father in law picked up a 2009 Boxster last year (from the US) - he did a LOT of research and really stayed away from anything pre-2009. Price does seem a bit high - by way of comparison, he payed $40US with less than 20,000mi and has a Porsche extended warranty until 2016 - even that was high, but it was the exact colour combo he wanted (the warranty and low km helped too!).
