Default Suggestions for Dent and Chip..

Last weekend, some jerk either intentionally or unintentionally dented my car, just to the left of the gas tank cover. There is a nice sized dent and the paint is gone. I tried touching it up and it looks like a hack job. I am going to get a PDR guy to fix the dent but am wondering what I should do about the touch-up. Should I just try and wet sand it to try and smoothen it out?

Sounds like vandalism. That makes me very sad. I'm a perfectionist so I would just take it to Pfaff's new body shop. Anything less than 100% would drive me crazy.

Let the PDR guy do his magic first. Then take to a professional to have the chipped and touched up paint addressed. Probably a good polishing and some Dr Color Chip and you're good-to-go.

How deep is the scratch? I just filled in a scratch on mine with the Dr Colorchip kit, it needs a couple more coats, but already, the first coat came out much better than I thought it would. Wetsanding would definitely smooth it out, but I don't think you'll be able to get the shine back.
