Funny guy! It's the 993 Turbo (so called) "S" that wins me the bet. Check it out Sunday. Where is that Bacuro squelcher with my $100 anyway?Originally Posted by Bahama

Not a squelcher. Event hasn't happened but I will keep my eyes open for a beat up 993 turbo. If it's in good shape but has a fake S badge does that make it a beater? I'm not sure how to tell if it's not really as S. Is the plate 1 of 17 or is that one a 964?

^^ based on what I remember 4 pipe exhaust, air scoops in rear fender flares, yellow calipers, larger rear wing than regular turbo, carbon fiber interior bits and 450 hp. Only 185 or so sold so they are fairly rare and command crazy $ in pristine condition.

Your memory is failing you. As you can see from last year's show photo, my car was parked right beside it and based on what I remember it's a tribute car. I'd bet you too, but you guys never seem to pay up. Owner's quite a nice guy. Have a chat with him at the show.Originally Posted by Pags993

Just had a look at the website to see who was in.
Although the pages shows this weekends date, the "CARS IN THE SHOW" are last years which includesd my car and I was not selected to attend.
And if you look at the "SPONSOR A CAR" list, it shows some heavily modified muscle cars and Hot Rods.
So much for Bacura's "I suspect all chosen cars would have to be unmodified".

Hey Ronnie I was describing the difference between the 993 TT and 993 TT S. I was not at the show last year so I cant comment on that particular vehicle. The one I mentioned in another thread that showed up at a UCR Fun Run was 100% legit and had all the correct unique features.

Three Wheelin'
To Will. All my comments were directed at the Porsches only. Not the muscle cars. I still maintain that if I was choosing, I would give preference to stock vehicles. Go check any proper concours/car show like Monterey. Stock cars. At the Yorkville show see how many of the Ferrari's are modified. IMHO stock Porsches and Ferrari's make better show cars. I don't mention Lambo's because I am not a fan of any Lambo stock or otherwise.

Three Wheelin'
Will. I am not trying to cause flames. I was merely making a comment on how the cars were chosen. I have no affiliation with the show. Phil mentioned that they were decreasing the numbers and that there would only be 10 cars in the Porsche corral. With only 10 cars there has to be some criteria. He commented that they would avoid duplicates...like 4 identical red Ferrari F430's. I made the comment that stock cars show better. That is my personal opinion. At last weeks cars and coffee there were 4 GT3(RS'S). None were modified and I thought they looked great. My first 911 was a 1988 Carrera. It had RUF parts and BBS wheels. I liked the look but after many years I look back and realize I made a mistake. It looked better as original. Plus I got nothing for the big bucks I spent. I guess my question to you and Ronnie would be what criteria would you use? Phil and his team had to make some difficult decisions that would most certainly upset the people previously in the show. At the Saturn drives I think the original cars show much better. A GT-R with green hexagon wrap? An old Gallardo with gold accent wrap? IMHO all ugly. A brand new stock 458 speciale....a work of art. Phil spends a lot of his own time organizing this and I don't think his decisions are based on who gives the most money. So again I ask, what criteria would you use to select only 10?
