I haven't started my 993 since last fall and when I tried the other day it won't start. It cranks like crazy so I think it might be the dme relay and of course I don't have a spare.
Anyone have a spare that I could borrow just to see if that's the problem? I am in the Beaches and would be happy to pick it up this morning and return same day
Just want to find out the problem before I drop +$100 for a new one

do you have the original 944 p/n relay? There is a thread on the 993 board that shows the solder joints failing is the usual culprit on these. If you have access to a soldering iron you can repair it very inexpensively. If you don't, I'd be happy to try to fix it, or sell you a spare. When mine busted I bought a second spare, then found out about the solder joints and the first one was repaired, so now I have three.
with the key on you should be able to hear the fuel pump if the relay is working, it is near the right rear tire.
I also have one but it sounds like you are taken care of.
You guys get this sorted? I'm just north of you (5 min) and am happy to lend you my DME relay and or open up yours and fix it. I'll ba back from early hockey about 10am.
Borrowed Mr944's DME and it fired right up!! Problem identified! Thanks again mr944!!
And also thanks to all that offered to help. It was an old 944 part number. Will have a DME from the US in a couple of weeks and a spare as well for $50 so less than 25% of the cost of 1 at the dealer here.....
