Enbridge price increase... not 40%
Just got my bill... I thought they were increasing the price 40% to address "market supply" conditions.
So my gas supply rate was $0.0117412/ m3, it is now $0.0208959/m3. Last time I looked, that was 78% increase. Anyone know what the deal with this is?

As far as Enbridge: I have no idea what they are up to. Between Government interference in Hydro rates and free enterprise (but Government regulated) gas companies - we're just about held hostage every where we look.

We should have a Canadian P&C sub forum just for bashing A; Americans, B; Russians, C; Anything Canajun and anyone else I left out, including Vancouverites and Newfies.

As a former employee of Enbridge they don;t make money on the sale of gas just the delivery (hence the two charges on your bill).
The gas is pre-purchased and stored in places throughout Ontario.
This past winter depleted their reserve and the replacement per cubic metre has increased.
The same thing happened to propane this past winter. Prices skyrocketed because most of the propane was being shipped to the States.
I think Union raised their rates as well.

I was thinking of putting in a ng generator for the house, now I am thinking I should do a diesel instead. ng prices are getting to high and with no protection from Gov't which even allow these ridiculous price hikes on a whim.
