Spoke with World Fine Cars, it is the vehicle they sold to a guy in Toronto. The car was purchased from a guy in Seattle, Washington and had fire damage. The car was fixed, runs perfectly, had new tires and was bought for $12K by a guy in Toronto. World Fine Cars was unaware that the buyer had any intentions or reselling the car this quickly and with that too with false information. They thought the buyer was a stand-up kinda guy.

So, WFC bought a fire damaged car? Did they disclose this to the buyer? Even if WFC knew that the buyer was going to flip it do you really think they would not have sold it?? Why would they care if he was a 'stand-up guy' ??

Yes, the damage was reported because it was on the CarFax report. The issue about the guy being a 'stand-up guy' comes from the Kijiji post which claimed the car was pristine & had no damage history. World Fine Cars is a business so they would sell you anything provided you were able to pay for it, after that it's your personal property and they really don't care what you do with it.

As I had mentioned earlier, World Fine Car provided full disclosure to me when I wanted to purchase the 911 at $12k.....this is what I had posted in the beginning of this post. By the time I had returned to the dealership, the car was sold. I had no intentions of selling it....it was repaired quite well.

Trying to flip it for $17k MORE than the purchase price is "alittle" aggressive and greedy.

Now he's created a blog to sell the car... Again no mention of fire damage...

Obviously buyer beware.

I suspect he may be trying to sell it in the US because he thinks that he may be able to get around damage disclosure rules.

In BC, the vehicle transfer form APV9T has a Seller Information and Vehicle Declaration section that requires disclosure that the vehicle has over $2,000 in damage.

Too bad for the next purchaser if they are not aware of this as there is no way that car is worth more than $12,000 with that history.

Hopefully any potential purchasers have done a bit of research on this site.

I contacted him. I asked straight up if it was from WFC. Said no, previous owner owned it for 6 year...
Said he bought it privately and is 5th owner. Got in 2012...

I looked up the VIN...
nicb.org
VIN: XXXXXXXXXXXX (VIN DELETED AT SELLERS REQUEST) has been identified as a vehicle listed in the VINCheckSM Salvage Records.

Date of loss: 1994-07-18
Cause of loss: Collision

Yeah buyer beware!!

I did a little digging.

This car is NOT the car sold by Wold Fine Cars in 2012 - not the same VIN #.

According to the owner he bought it off a local guy who owned it for 6 years.
He had an appraisal of the car from 2012 - PM if interested - only issue was some body filler on engine deck lid and poor rock chip touch ups.
Owner also said he has all service documentation dating back to when the car was new.
He is trying to find the CarFax from when he bought the car.
Car has been serviced by Mantis for a number of years.
According to appraiser, no obvious structural damage or rust.

nibc.org shows a salvage title from '94, ibc.ca doesn't show anything. CarFax shows 23 listings - which could be the registration of the car in different states, etc - but I didn't order the full report.

If the salvage is an error - car seems real nice - a bit high priced perhaps - but come summer, probably not far off, especially for a C2?

if you have a vette and a porsche, why would you put your commuter car in the garage?
his belt is very much off center, perhaps he pays very little attention to detail...LOL

I would highly doubt that an NICB report would be incorrect. That is far more accurate than any Carfax etc.
