so it probably time I wished RL peepes a MERRY CHRISTMAS

and its NOT happy holidays

Its Christmas so I'm wishing you; pagan, atheists, hindu, muslim, 7DA, buddists etc etc a VERY MERRY CHRISTMAS and a PROSPEROUS NEW YEAR.


You don't have to believe in God, Jesus, the sky fairie, or any of the things that I believe in, you just have to believe that "I" am wishing you all the best, with best intentions, or somtimes I have said, "ompliments of the season"


Go out and help a bum, offer somone a warm drink, give somone homless person a warm sweater, be nice to somone who is normally horrible to you, go home and kiss you kids, whatever...


Me, I'm going to sit and wait for Santa Claus and home I dont get socks again !!


sorry, I'm a bit miffed, was told that to be carefull what xmas music to play on a 2 hour christmas special, should be non-christian, as the majority of people are not christians so I have to be sensitive to that... p.s that came from a caucasian...

LOL. Yeah, that was quite the rant! I get being fed up with political correctness surrounding Merry Xmas vs. Happy Holidays but still....

 

We just got an ecard from the US arm of an international company.
In Spanish, Chinese, Japanese, & French is Merry Christmas.
In English, it's Happy Holidays!

I know of no visible race (can't say minority anymore..he he) that's offended by "Merry Christmas".
It's not that some are afraid of offending. White Liberal guilt maybe ??? Good Grief. Get over it already!

Now that I've ranted.... HAPPY Christmahanakwanzika !

 

My Wicken SIL is very confused at this time of year. She and my SIG other hate Christmas because they feel pressured to be the perfect hostess. I suppose thats a result of being daughters of the Perfect Hostess but both ladies do a great job of it anyway. Me, I just make sure the tree gets properly set up and then get out of the way.

 

It's a bit old, but boy were they cute back then.

I USED to get irked when people would wish me a Merry Christmas - took the attitude that they just assumed I was Christian, what there are no other religions on Earth?? (I'm Jewish) - but WTF, grow up (I told myself) - I feel it's become more of a nice sentiment as opposed to a religious wish to others.

So, THANK YOU for wishing me (and everyone here) a Merry Christmas! Merry Chirstmas to you, and Happy Holidays to everyone!

I do have to get one thing off my chest, while I REALLY like the fact that people tend to make more of an effort to help their fellow man this time of year - why the f@k can't we act like that ALL year?? (Something that has always escaped me - apparently we need to come up with more excuses to be nice to one another throughout the year).

MERRY CHRISTMAS. I don't see this greeting as affirmation of acceptance of Jesus Christ as our Saviour or otherwise suggesting that saying these word marginalize those who do or don't utter these words. I drop money into the Sally Ann Kettles and hope it makes a difference. It's a time of year that brings out the best in the community and thats got to be a good thing. Merry Christmas.
