I got the black... only because i didn't want a new one to come out and be left with old tech lol. I don't use the remote (but the wifi built-in to the camera is awesome, and allows me to control it with my iphone).

Advice for use:

1) make sure if using sticky mounts on your helmet, let it sit 24hrs before using... .we lost a gopro last winter in BC because we stuck the mount on 2hrs before hitting the slopes. Having said that, mine that I let properly set has never budged.

2) tether the camera housing to your helmet to make sure if the sticky does fail, it's not getting lost!

Black Hero 3...is overkill, but It's amazing. I use for Scuba, Skiing and track.

I have a black edition and its great. There is a new model out black + smaller etc.

By the time you'll need it a new model from go-pro will probably be surfacing.....

Get the Hero 3+ black edition, not the older hero 3. Better resolution and battery life.

My shop sells Go Pro, and right now the deals on Hero 3's at BB/FS, are basically our wholesale.
I've had an order in for 3+ versions for 2 months and still haven't received them, if it's anything like last year, get one while you can since most stores were sold out mid-December and nobody could get more.

I bought a cam with GPS online this year and used it in Germany and Austria. Worked ok for the money. Audio like most isn't great (too much wind noise) but video (1080P) was fine.
