According to Mobil 1, the shelf life of unopened bottles is 5 years.
Opened bottles should be used within 8 months.

Just came back from C Tire most 5L jugs oil on sale. Picked up a few 5W 40 Castrol Edge with SPT synthetic for $ 32.00 ea.

Better than the $ 52.00 I paid for them a week ago !! They also have Castrol 0W 40 Edge Synthetic for $ 32 5L

Castrol 5W 40 is what my local P dealer is using.
