I totally understand the business rationale for this vehicle, but how long until there is a Porsche that starts at $20,000?

VW Group already has the Q5 and the Touareg... I don't understand why they need to compete with themselves.
That said, it's a great looking SUV - I'd have one (with model delete... "macan" doesn't do it for me)

Funny both are Turbos.
I am so glad it turned out like this. Really an improvement on the tail lights over the mess they done on them post the first gen Cayenne.
Hope they bring a Diesel with option for air suspension here.

I would find it difficult to believe they would design engine from scratch for these cars. Car companies are obviously famous fro transferring power trains. Anyone know if these engines are modified exisiting engines ?
I know they used to run a 3.0 litre v6 in the A4/6 series but that was an old troublesome engina and imagine this is a lot newer.
I have no idea what engines VW/Audi is running today

I believe they are making a diesel... so it would be a good daily driving option, sportier than a Q5. I recently spec'd out a 2014 BMW 328 Diesel Touring AWD (Wagon) with 2 options... Nav & M Sport package, it was $68 000 after taxes... it was drove nice... but not as sporty as I'd expect a Porsche to drive.

I like the look of the new Cayenne..oh wait whats it called?
Love the red/black interior and the dash minus the silly clock in the middle looking all lonely. I'd find a way to delete that!

Honestly, whats the diff between this and the Cayenne? The Cayenne is already pretty small relative to the SUV market
Also understand the rationale for entering the SUV market but there will be a $30k Pcar in the not too distant future....

Looks like the premier video was shot in Vancouver? Either way this Macan will be a hot seller for Porsche...watch it become the #1 selling P-car.
