Question 3M Paint Defender

Anyone tried this? Thinking of using it around wheel wells since it's the only place I don't have Venture Shield.

Ronnie,
do a search there are many threads on this stuff. For the amount you use your car do you really want plastic around the wheel wells? I wouldn't bother.

i wouldnt use any kind of spray on my bodywork
and I don't think over and above the existing paint this will protect anything, this new/extra paint film is only going to be a few microns?

the clear plastic film that 3m do however is excellant and usually resists yellowing and can easily be removed. I used it to protect the lower fog/drive lights on my s2

so personally for me no,

I've used Paint Defender, and I like it quite a bit. I've got a clear bra on my car, but I use paint defender on the rocker panels and the rear of the car. To prep, I just wash the car with normal car soap and water, then spray on the paint defender. It cures in about a day, and is quite durable. I don't leave it on for too long though, generally I just use it for track days, and pull it off afterwards. I've never had an paint peeling issues (although I've only used it 2-3 times so far).

IMHO its not a replacement for a good clear bra, but can be used as a temporary guard for parts of the car that don't lend themselves well to being covered with clear bra.

I think this a great option for long trips. Spray it on rip it off after. I do a lot of work with 3M, I can say I have never come across a bad product.
