Gauging Interest: Porsche WRC experience

The last World Rally Championship ( WRC ) event in Ontario
was the Rideau Lakes Rally in 1974.

Here's your chance to drive some of the famous super twisty stages the works teams such as Lancia, etc. drove.

Supposedly Lancia showed up with a jumbo jet full of cars and equipment
to the tune of $400,000 for the 3 day event. ( and that's 1974 dollars when
you could buy a compact car for about $2,000 !!)

All roads are paved.

let me know. Near Kingston

Yeah Will maybe thats it . I imagine that to be very entertaining . i think it used to be on TSN and it was totally intense TV , felt like these Blue and Yellow machines were going to come right into your living room ..

so do we get to drive like these guys ?

Who is this guy? Does he not know I'm already here??

Further, I don't understand his post. What is the WRC Porsche experience?

It's true, we worked very hard to prep the local scene to attract a WRC event a few years ago. It meant the debut of pace notes, and I loved that part. Felt like real WRC events, but I was going a third the pace.

Alas, we never managed to get real event here and get the Euro teams over, just not enough interst and ROI re tv etc.

There was good TSN coverage for a while, but thing have gotten quiet. I still run, and Sometimes manage to win the long winter events, but they are mere shadows of their former selves.
