October 26th is UCR rally so any other date is ok with me. Need to defend my 2nd and try for 1st.

Two issues impacts the drive, well actually three. First are Fall festival events that typically end mid month, second is the weather, and requires a rain date and third is the popularity of the event. Organizing a ride for twenty to thirty cars in close convoy requires some attention.

September is too early for a fall drive - the weather is still summer, and the trees don't turn until mid October at the earliest. I'm not available the other weekends in October, so if I'm organizing it, I can't do it any other weekend. If someone else wants to take the reigns and do it on a different October weekend, that's fine by me.

Even in November the weather should still be solid, and it is mid fall technically. On average the temperature typically varies from 6°C to 10°C and is rarely below 3°C or above 14°C.
