Default 996 LR lower control arm wanted

I'm a bit of a bind. Managed to snap the left rear lower control arm (the one behind the axle, towards the rear bumper) when trying to jack that corner up for a flat tire change. It was one of those DOH! moments. I have a 928 gathering in Michigen this weekend and was planning to take the 996 (it has an AC). If anyone has a usable control arm that they are willing to sell, let me know. I am planning to refresh the entire suspension on the car over the winter but till then, a good used one will be fine.

I have the number off the part but even the dealer said it must have been replaced by another part number. They have no record of the number the broken control arm. However here it is: 996.331.245.08

Its the left lover control arm that connects to the hub at the rear side (rear bumper side) of the hub. There is only one control arm there. Had a I beam shape with a ball joint on the hub end and a regular rubber bushing on the sub frame side. The connection point to the sub frame is infront of the rear sway bar mounting cap. I have a pic but can't post it until I get home.

That's the new number, and I checked oddly the number you gave isn't listed at all!?!?
Either way is commonly referred to as the 'rear toe link', Randy at WhaleTail might have one kicking around, AutoPartsWay also has TRW/OEM link for $91, should be there in time for your trip http://www.autopartsway.ca/PartDetai.../pagenum1/tabS

Thanks! I called Randy in the morning and he has been working on this too. Just called him back and he has one. Picking it up tomorrow evening. Sports Car Botique (sp?) only had 997 parts. I've been trying to avoid the dealer as much as possible and looks like it worked this time.

glad it worked out! Did SCB say they only had them for 997's? If so, they should have known they're the same part for 996 as 997...

They did say that it probably is the same but since that part number that was on mine, cross referenced to nothing, neither of us were 100% sure if it was the same. I thanked them fir their help and said maybe next time we'll be more lucky to do business. The dealer confused the heck out of me by not being able to cross reference it. Whale Tail is very close to me anyways and the car is parked halfway between WT and my house.

Just wanted to make sure SCB wasn't making a very simple error, but it sure looked like they knew what they were doing at Mosport/CTMP last weekend
Double check the old part number, could it have been 996 331 045 08 by chance? Also interested to see how the old one broke, mind throwing a pic of it up?
Cheers,

The old part number is accurate. I took clear pictures of it. I'll post up some pictures of the broken part and the part number in the next few days.
