Hey everyone

Having a bit of a problem finding a locksmith to re-key my locks on my doorhandles... Seems as when one mentions the word "Porsche" they all tell me to go to the dealership.

Anyone know of anyone who could re-key my door handles to match my ignition keys?

Door handles are the 1986 aluminum "porsche script" handles from a 944.

Any locksmith can do it. I had all the locks rekeyed on my 83 944. I took the door handles and the hatch lock out, took them to a locksmith and had them rekey everything to the same key as the ignition key. I just found a shop in the yellow pages or google or something, nothing special. Once they see it's a standard key/tumbler/whatever lock, they'll know what to do. I looked into DIYing it, to the point of having everything apart on my kitchen table, but ended up taking it to a shop. I think it cost maybe $20, plus they cut a few extra keys for me at the same time.
