Grand Bend Sept 12 Porsche of London Track Day
#17
I just got back. Very long day, but it was awesome
The weather was perfect, everyone was friendly, and we got as much track (and instructor) time as desired. I ran through a full tank of gas and spent more than 2 hours doing laps. I did 3 fifteen minute sessions with 3 different instructors which made it interesting since each had a different focus and approach.
Having done track days at Dunneville (years ago), Cayuga, and Grand Bend my favourite is definitely the track at Grand Bend. The track flows pretty well and has a wide variety of single and multiple bends.
And as a special treat we were given the opportunity to try out some racing go-carts on part of the track as soon as everyone was done on the main track. Jonathan (the head instructor) is setting up a go-carting program and allowed us to experience it.
Overall a great day that exceeded my expectations. Mike and I were the last two on the track at ~4pm and we got several hours of go-carting in after that. Pretty sweet but I'll be sore tomorrow.
