Default my exhaust is loud

Especially on a cold start. And especially on a cold start at the end of the day in my parking garage. Started the car today and set off the car alarm on the X5 parked beside me!

Mine too! I can live with the volume, but the drone is too much.
I found a factory muffler for my Boxster S (for cheap), and can hardly wait to put it on. Just need a couple of clamps, and other little things the PO didn't hang on to.

Ohh, you are complaining.. I thought you were bragging I had a X-5, and it felt a little wussy to me, so I am not surprised it was intimidated by your beast.

I feel my car is a little muted, but I have never heard it from the outside, and normally the loud noises it makes are being left behind me on acceleration

I have always rightly or wrongly equated wanting a loud car with wanting to be noticed .. As imre pointed out maybe I am old as wanting to be noticed isnt on the list of priorities

I like a loud car but I'm not interested in being noticed. That's why I have tinted windows

I love it!
Did the X5 leave a little oil puddle too?

It's only on start up that I find my Cabrio loud (but in a snarling, good way). Then, it's sounds are perfect to me. Have only used the stereo 4 times this past year.

I like a loud car because it makes me smile like I'm 8 years old to hear a barking exhaust note under accel.... sport muffler soon....

Sorry but if you don't want to be noticed, you should have bought a mini van.

I have a sport exhaust on mine. Sounds almost as loud as a Harley. No sneaking home late for me
