Don't fully understand. Did you get a red-light fine for turning right on a red? If so I didn't realize that the camera can check if you came to a full stop before completing the turn.

If you turned without stopping first you still broke the law. Just sayin.

I got one of those downtown on my motorcycle, basically failure to come to a complete stop.

I would fight it, say you stopped then turned. Don't say anything else.

I thought a red light camera took a picture of you in the intersection when the light was already red? It can't tell if you stopped or not. I would think the judge should not only throw out the ticket, but compensate you for your time off work, travel, etc. Certainly if it were a civil case and you were wrongfully sued you could claim time and costs.

i do know what you are saying but that is like saying .. well im sure you did some other offense at some other time so we will get you now ..

the law doesn't , or at least shouldnt work that way .. thorehitcally i could stop at a yellow ( which is red in the eyes of the law as yellow is stop ).. accelerate around the corner and get snapped.. that is perfectly legal .. so off to court i go .. what a total scam

I believe some red light cameras also record speed on the photos - if it was a rolling stop, the you went through a red light, right turn or not.
That your car wasn't in the second pic may lead one to believe that it was a rolling stop otherwise, the camera would have caught you in the second pic.

It's worth fighting if you didn't do a rolling stop - tell judge you came to a complete stop and proceeded to turn right as it was safe to do so.

Apparently 80% of red light fines are given to "right turn rollers".

This isn't right, that ticket should ne dismissed. Redlight cameras are only there to catch those that go straight through. It has been like that in Peel since day one. Its there to reduce the straight redlight runner and therefore reduce serious and fatal collisions. In Peel they throw out the right turners (like you) at the processing centre. Now if Waterloo Region decided to start charging all that triger the system, than that's not right. Also, you need to be going faster than the triggering speed (probably 25km/h) to arm the system. This speed is specially set to remove right tuners from getting their picture taken and waste the processing centre's wasted time. FIGHT IT!!!! But before you go, call/contact the Region's Traffic Signals and System section and ask for a complete deacription on how the redlight camera syatem is set up at this Region. The supervisor's name is Egerton Heath. Need more help, ask away and I'll help you with as much as I can.

Yup. It's all about raising money.
Not like they'd want to investigate all the insurance fraud in Brampton.
Good luck though.

Passing on a high recommendation from Saturn (Saturn's Drives) from his Facebook group regarding hiring a paralegal for traffic tickets.. just FYI..

Saturn:
Goggle Redline Paralegal. Ask for Forch (yes that is his name). Tell him Saturn sent you.
http://www.redlinelegalservices.ca/c...legal-reviews/
They have been in business for many years. Their track record has been very spectacular but they are expensive. They were even able to re-open a case that was already convicted and got it brought back in front of the Justice of the Peace due to incompetence of the prior traffic ticket firms and won

Sorry about the ticket, Ice. Fight it if you have the energy and not the money (for ticket - and insurance bump (maybe)).

The real money is in parking enforcement, tho.
