Default Thoughts on this 996 Turbo?

What do the pros think about this car?

I know the HREs aren't everyone's cup of tea, but they are easily changed.

Hard to say. All that Ruf stuff. Was the engine and turbos also modified. Price seems to good to be true and I'd be worried about the engine if it was seriously boosted. Could have blown a connecting rod and patched up. Seller may not know the history and can sell it with a clear conscious and you would inherit a major problem.

The HRE's are nice if they were painted black. Would look amazing on a white car.

Personally, I would rather have this one: stock, lower mileage and lower price:

I just can't believe how inexpensive these 996 Turbos are and the first one looks like it's priced too high.

I think the white one has too much coconut. Looks like a girly sort of ride if that's ok that's another story. I like the 2nd turbo much better both as it's stock and the price.

I agree with the previous comments - white one too much bling (hate chrome wheels!!) - second one looks pretty nice!! 03-04 996 Turbos are the best deal in the Porsche world - by a mile - simply cannot understand someone buying an overpriced 993 run of the mill C2 instead of these cars!!

All you air cooled wallys don't get you simple, under-powered, VW interior knickers in a twist!!

Uh, ahem, I'm single-handedly increasing the proportion of air-cooleds on the back of a flatbed...

LOL !!! The 993s to a 996tt are apples to oranges.

Statistically the 996tt is a superior car but many will debate that its lost the "feel" of Porsche Past. This is the main reason why the Aircooled 993 has shot up in value.

I've owned both 993 and and 996tt and hands down the 993 is a much more fun and challenging car to drive on and off the track.

The 996tt is a drama free point and shoot "Pig" on Lance Armstrong Steroids.

The 993 is full on Drama that requires a true driver or a real nut case!!!

The 993 is also perhaps the prettiest car ever built, anywhere, by anyone.
