Default Race Ramps - Anyone use em?

Thunderously expensive but look like they have a lot of cool applications.

Anyone ever use em? Curious as to their real world practicality and usefulness.

Cheaper alternatives?

I thought of buying them before but I opt for just 2 layers of rubber pads and it works fine (didn't over inflate the tires either

Work like a charm.

Very light.

We sell 'em here at our shop.

Do you have access to the whole product line? If I do decide to go with em, I shall give thee a call.

For storage over winter, i usually jsut throw a 1-2" thick styrofoam piece under the tires. I do over inflate but am not sure if I need to since the styrofoam conforms to the shape of the tire under weight.

We use them around the shop and with our race trailer. I know it is more money than getting some wood at the hardware store - but they are super ligth and super strong. +1

We use them for our 944 Cup car and a 24 ft Featherlite trailer. They are great, really allow you to load a very low car into a trailer are light and easy to nest together in a standing position at the back of our trailer. This keeps the rear door spring from being overloaded with heavy aluminum ramp extensions and they can be used to raise the front end of the car in the garage if needed.

+1 never had an issue in +15 years of Porsche ownership. I use a piece of the blue stuff i find blowing around at building sites.

I just got an email notice that Race Ramps is offering a $25 mail-in rebate. Not much but I wanted to let you know. It shows up in the top right hand of their website home page.

Just so happens that between Ronan and myself with all the cars to store over the winter we have quite an assortment.
i'm still confused about picture attaching, so sorry about the over-sized shot.

There are Race Ramps, top or 12 o'clock in the picture, ideal for loading low-front end cars (Ronan's GT3 RS')
on to the trailer, especially with short loading ramps. They are also ideal at the track to raise a low-suspension car
(my 944 track toy) up and get a jack underneath the rocker panel.

Then there are Tire Cradles, (1 and 3 o'clock), thick rubber pads to prevent flat-spotting tires over long storage periods.
Note the two shapes; one has a stopper ridge and the other is bevelled at both ends. These are flat and form to the tire under
the weight of the car.

The FlatStoppers, centre of shot and 9 o'clock, are a pre-shaped version made of the same light weight material
as the Race Ramps.

Finally there are my low-cost alternatives; at 7 o'clock a chunk of flooring rubber from Home Depot and at 6,
a green rubber swim pad from the Dollar Store. (Hey they matched my car color...) LOL!

Price ranges from a couple of hundred to a buck each. Hope this helps.

Tire Cradle vs. Flatstoppers (the pre-formed ones)...which would be more effective? The Tire Cradle (flat pad) definitly looks easier to drive onto.

Do these things move around when placed on the ground?

The Flatstoppers are definitely a little harder to get on but i like their shape and load distribution properties, but you're only doing this once a year so not that big a deal. Neither model moves on the ground.

Depends what you plan on doing. Its kind of hard to do any wheel or brake work on your car with the wheels sitting on ramps.

And there are far cheaper alternatives. I bought a set of plastic Pro Ramps from CTC when they were on sale for $29.99. The intent was to use them just to raise either end of the car. I never used them, sold them and bought a MaxJax car lift instead.

Are there any local shops selling the flatstoppers or tire cradle (pre-formed)?...I do use the cheap foam pads but I wanted to get something more substantial.
