This is what the inside of a turbo is not supposed to look like. Happened at Mosport yesterday...

Wow! Was the damage contained to the turbo, or was there collateral damage, too?

Sorry to see this.

Just the turbo, thankfully! Looking for a second job to help pay the tracking bills. Anyone hiring?

Exactly where my head went. Great minds think alike. Ordered already and hoping for delivery next week from UMW (Kevin). Adding power and more importantly low end torque. Kevin claims 500hp at the wheels. Please don't tell my wife!

Wow. What did you hear when that happened? Did you shut it down immediately?
I wonder if it's possible for any pieces to get through the intercooler.

There wasn't any huge noise, just a sudden drop in power and zero boost pressure. I crawled back to the pits from the bottom of the back straight, loaded the trailer and called it a day. Another day that I was thankful for having a trailer. This was a good investment.

Full inspection underway as we type...

That's what I'd do - but which turbos?

I'm running k16/24 hybrids with two boost profiles. Work great for my purpose. Pm me if you want to discuss.

Ouch at least it was just the turbo's, any idea how long you will be off track? Finally got the rest of my parts in today can start the fun of putting it back together. Going to miss the BMW event, shooting for the UCR event in Sept.

Jeez Mark, not sure whether to say sorry or congrats on the upgrade! Glad it wasn't worse, and at least you got most of the day in. See you trackside soon.

The intercooler should catch all the leftover stuff but make sure to clean it out real good. Was the turbo ovet spun?

I don't have a firm eta on the new units, but I hope to have them flown up next week. I'll be lucky to have them in time for Trillium. My back up plan is to use my DD M3 if the Turbo is not fixed in time. Kevin from UMW seems to think it may have over spun, but the big question is why. Still a mystery...

BioBanker, yes the same units K16/24 hybrids. I'll PM you. I'm curious about what gas you are using and what performance you are seeing.
