Certainly lots of talk about the ad.... Not sure this press is "good press" despite how the saying goes!

Saw this in the morning..my reaction ---> BURNNN!!

Did anyone come across the name of the agency responsible??! I guess the
account exec working the Porsche account is looking for a new job.

It's crazy to me that nobody, in the chain of process, would notice this
spelling error.... Creative, Account, Production and the media company who
prints the boards...So many eyes and nobody saw that...I don't
get it..

Most people who aren't Porsche enthusiasts or car enthusiasts for that matter probably wouldn't know the correct way of spelling it. I also often see "Porsche" spelled as Porche

Inexcusable...when your company is heading up millions of dollars of media for a
client like Porsche, you get your team to learn to spell your client's products
frontwards and backwards! Or at least cross reference, check, double check
and recheck!

Agreed...I suspect some ad agency out there is wondering just how the heck they can make this right!

... and some other ad agencies are out there wondering how they can jump on the opportunity to steal this account!

Poor review/approval process if you ask me. Somewhere along the way it was probably generic copy that someone approved conceptually and assumed it would be correct before it went to print. Mistakes happen, but too many times they could have been avoided very easily. I bet they'll have these reprinted and reinstalled very quickly with the corrected (or different) version, and at the expense of the agency.

It made the news in Australia.

http://smh.drive.com.au/motor-news/b...815-247xx.html

A friend sent it to me from Sydney. Ouch. It's an international incident. On the plus side - I assume there's a job openning at Porsche London!

Maybe it should be called Leavens-Gaff Porsche.

Well, look at all the hoopla this has caused. You can't get any better advertising than that.

Getting the dealership to admit one way or the other, will never happen.
